Access Control Systems

What Is An Access Control System?

Access control is a selective restriction of access. Based on pre-programmed access criteria, the access control system determines who is allowed to enter or exit, where and when they are allowed to enter or exit.

When access is granted, the door is unlocked for a predetermined amount of time and the access transaction is recorded. When access is denied, the door remains locked and the attempted access is recorded. The system also monitors whether the door is forced open or held open longer than its allocated time.
